Some shots from Saturday 22 April at All Saint’s Church Souldrop with Sharnbrook Gospel Choir.
Photo’s and words by Keeley Daize
“The choir were amazing and delivered a varied and beautiful concert at All Saint’s church. The audience were relaxed and mesmerised by the wonderful music and all really enjoyed the evening. The only distraction being Simon’s assistance dog trying to join in the choruses!!! We followed up with cheese, wine and a bar at the village hall where everyone got the chance to relax further, chat and catch up with friends. Overall a fantastic evening.
We would like to relay our heartfelt thanks to all members of the Sharnbrook Gospel Choir and everyone who came along or bought tickets plus Nick Wells for organised donation of our alcoholic drinks. You all helped us to raise another £502.50 towards getting our toilets upgraded and installing disabled access to the village hall.”
Thieves broke into All Saints Church in Souldrop last week and made of with the safe containing silver, valuables and a small amount of cash. Some damage was caused in the break in but fortunately as the church was empty nobody was hurt. It is also rumored that some nearby village churches have also been robbed in recent weeks.
We asked the vicarage covering Souldrop for a comment but as yet they have not replied.
Villager’s are reminded that there are thieves about and to report any suspicious activity to the Police at telephone number 101

One of the highlights in Souldrop of the Christmas period was the Nativity torchlit procession through the village on Saturday 15th. Adam Green has kindly donated a number of photographs we shall post up in the next couple of days. In the meantime the Rev Tom Sanders has sent us a down-loadable magazine with some news of the recent festivities and some up and coming Church services.

Villagers woke up to an unexpected carpet of snow on the morning of Tuesday December the 5th. The first snows of 2012 arrived early in Souldrop but the showers soon cleared leaving a fine bright but chilly Winters day.
Residents are advised that adjacent to the village green there is a yellow salt box to facilitate the clearing of icy patches on the roads or pavements.
Pictured above is the Bedford Arms Christmas Tree looking very seasonal in the snow.
